Erectile dysfunction is closely associated with serious health conditions, and it has significant impact on the overall well-being of patients and their partners. Several epidemiological studies have reported high prevalence and incidence of ED in various populations worldwide. ED has been identified as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. ED can help to uncover serious undiagnosed conditions like type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypogonadism, and occult cardiovascular disease. Timely diagnosis and treatment of ED can help to prevent serious cardiovascular disease and improve overall wellbeing of the patients. This session will review updates in the diagnosis and management options for ED. Advantages and disadvantages of various management options will be reviewed. Newer modalities in development will also be discussed. Holistic approach to the care of these patients to optimize overall health and long-term outcomes will be reemphasized.
