Utility and Caveats of Lipoprotein Measurements

Session Description

The Endocrine Society and the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM, formerly known as the American Association for Clinical Chemistry or AACC) have been collaborating on hormone assay standardization through PATH: Partnership for the Accurate Testing of Hormones and on other issues and projects of joint interest to the two organizations and their members.  In 2012, the Endocrine Society and AACC (now called ADLM) leadership met to discuss additional opportunities for collaboration.  From this discussion arose the concept of joint or reciprocal programming at the organizations’ annual meetings.  This provides an opportunity for Endocrine Society members to learn more about endocrine laboratory testing and for ADLM members to learn more about clinicians’ needs from the laboratory. This would be the 11th Endocrine Society co-sponsored of this very successful symposium at our annual meeting.
