Unraveling the Genetics of Obesity: Insights into Brain-Based Appetite Regulation

Session Description

With the increasing incidence of obesity, there is a need to understand food intake and satiety. The hypothalamus controls energy homeostasis by changing the function of individual neuronal subtypes that either increase or decrease food intake. This symposium will present the latest findings in key neuronal populations and the evidence that these neurons have distinct functions to regulate feeding.
