A plethora of various therapeutic options for patients with obesity have been developed including drugs and surgery. In this talk, these different therapeutic options will be outlined. Moreover, drugs and surgery will be compared by their effectiveness in reducing weight to address a major question :”should the absolute weight reduction be the holy grail in preventing morbidity and mortality in patients with obesity?”
