Management of PCOS: An Update

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine problem affecting women of reproductive age. Diagnosis and management of PCOS remains challenging for treating clinicians. It impacts overall well-being and long-term health of the affected women. Metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, and adverse reproductive outcomes associated with chronic anovulation are often associated with PCOS. This session will review various aspects of the management options available for PCOS and compare the available evidence about these modalities. Advantages and disadvantages of various management options will be reviewed. Newer modalities in development will also be discussed. Holistic approach to the care of these patients to optimize overall health and long-term outcomes will be emphasized.
